Bestfriends\\k.s

Offend me? I swear.
Offend my bestfriend? Don’t you dare.

What we gossip about? Don’t you worry.
Mess with us? You’d be sorry.

Think we’re cool? Yeah, you’re right.
Think we’re not? We’d be in a fight.

Wanna be with us? Please, don’t you interfere.
Wanna be like us? No, you just can’t, dear.

You adore us? Good.
You don’t? You should.

Wonder why we’re always together? Yes, we’re inseparable.
Wonder why I chose her? well she’s so adorable.

Do we ever fight?Yes, all the time.
Wanna fight with her too? Nope, she’s mine.

My bestfriend is my soulmate, I say with zest.
Don’t you call yours cooler, cause my bestfriend is the best.

I believe in you\\k.s

If the world was against you, and you stood at a little corner of the world, I would come with my sword all ready, to fight for you.

If you found yourself on the verge of dying, on the verge of drowning in the sea, don’t worry. I’d sail across all oceans, fight the biggest of waves, to save you.

If you stood at the mountain top, on the verge of tumbling down to your death, I’d climb the highest of the hills, I’d soar above the clouds, to protect you.

If you find yourself standing on a broken bridge, about to fall , I’ll be there to catch you.

If you had to die in a war tomorrow, I’d stand next to you like an armour, to defend you.

If you had no one to have a talk with, no one to lend you a shoulder to cry on, I’d come for you, I’ll be there for you.

No matter where you are, whenever in trouble, I’ll search for you and I’ll find you.

Because I believe in you.

Midnight Reminiscing\\k.s

Night 1,

I knew sitting alone at the corner of my room at midnight in dim lights would do me no good. Nor would thinking about you would. But it would give me enough reasons to write about the pain. The pain given by you.

Night 12,

We may not be a thing anymore. But I will assure that your memories stay in my poetry.

Night 25,

My mom kept asking me what happened to me the other day. I did not have the guts to mention your name.

Night 37,

I wonder if you stay awake at midnight too. Remembering me. Regretting me.

Night 59,

You used to be my only one. I used to be only one of them. I still remember.

Night 73,

Missing you, I feel was like my duty. But wanting you was my passion.

Night 82,

I wonder what made me like you in the first place. Just like what made you leave me in the last.

Night 100,

There was a time I used to write for you. Now I kinda write about you.

Wake me up\\k.s

Wake me up, when we’re done.

No longer in this war that we earlier begun.

Wake me up, as this gets over.

No one bitter; just love leftover.

Wake me up, as soon as we progress.

When we get up, get over this mess.

Wake me up, as we finish it for ever.

Even if we die in attempts to endeavour.

Wake me up, when I no longer see them dead.

All good, as we move ahead.

Wake me up, when everythin’s alright.

Back in shape, as we give up the fight.

Wake me up, as my kid arrives.

My wife no longer praying that I survive.

Wake me up, when we finally act sane.

Not the monsters, that suck on brains.

Wake me up, when everyone’s fine.

Celebrating the win, chucking on wine.

Wake me up, when we’re no longer in pain.

As the war, dies again.

Wake me up, when we all end up alive.

As through the situation, we soon contrive.

Wake me up, as we unite.

And if we reach back our homes tonight.

Will you? \\k.s

I have never been loved.

Why do you feel so? Replied the boy.

I don’t have a hand to hold this fall. With the leaves that are shedding, shed my self confidence and hope. No one to wipe my tears and say that I’m pretty. Look me into the eyes with utmost love, embrace my flaws and promise to love me till the next fall and many more. No one. None.

But what if you’re not able to see the love through your despairing eyes?

Am I really that unfortunate to not sense the love that exists? Am I really that flawed to not notice the one who loves(me)?

Not unfortunate, my love. Just despaired. He thought.

Look at those unfortunate trees, shedding the leaves with teary eyes but with the hope that they’ll retreat the next spring.

Well I have no one to hope for to come back. No one to say goodbye to, with the hope that they’ll come back.

The one who actually loves, will never leave, Susan. You wouldn’t ever have any goodbyes to give, a kiss to spare, or a hand to wave. Believe me. He’ll stay. All you have to do is remain like a tree, waiting for your hope and love to grow back like the leaves. Said the boy to the girl he loved.

Well, will you?

Will I what?

Will you stay?

Yes, had I loved you. He said, with a voice almost cracking, sweaty palms and teary eyes.

She cried a little and he smiled.

As he left for Vietnam, he waved at her as she waved back and he turned his head. She waved while muttering a love you behind his back.

As he muttered a love you too.

And so she waited like a tree in the fall, seeing her favourite flower gloom, waiting for the spring to come and bring him along.

18 \\k.s

Wriggling at the back of my throat; a thought straight through my mind.

Will I ever be content? “Well yes”, my heart lied.

This little world to which I was confined,

Got my soul all soaked and my hands all tied.

You just went to work,

While I prepared your food.

You spent time around your clerks,

While I cleaned, cooked and brewed.

Feeding my little kid,

While I missed out on meals.

Switching diapers was all I did,

While my pals exchanged deals.

I taught my little one,

While you drowned in your sleep,

I stayed up with my son,

Without a blink of the eye, but yeah a lil weep.

My job was to clean the dishes,

Make your clothes, spotless.

Taking care of your wishes,

Leaving my life, lifeless.

Hurt was an understatement,

As my life, away from me, was snatched.

With your due acknowledgement,

What I believe, we never matched.

I was only 18, when my life came to a halt.

And people just ask me why.

I say that I was married off.

And left alone to cry.

If Only… \\k.s

If only, you had not left my place in disgust,

I could have apologized.

If only, you had waited at my doorstep,

My girl, I would have treated you right.

If only, you had slapped me a couple o’ times,

I would have realized.

If only, you had been in your senses,

We would have never had this fight.

If only, you had seen the truth in my eyes,

We’d have been alright.

If only, you had listened to your heart,

And not the demons inside.

If only, you had kept your anger,

And that frustration aside.

If only, you had not banged that door,

And simply, stride.

If only, you had not found your car keys,

And driven at midnight.

AND…

If only, you had not met that fatal truck,

You’d had still been by my side.
